URBANA, Ill. – Community members can now report on-campus incidents of theft and vandalism and any lost property without the need for face-to-face interaction.

The reporting form is available on the University of Illinois Police Department website.

The online reporting format has been in the works at UIPD for some time, but its launch was accelerated to provide a more convenient option for community members who are practicing “social distancing” during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Online reporting reduces the amount of face-to-face interaction required.

The online reporting form is for non-emergency incidents only. Anyone who is experiencing an emergency or who is witnessing a crime in progress should still call 911.

All emergency and non-emergency services provided by the University of Illinois Police Department remain available 24/7. The department remains fully staffed.
