A U. of I. student reported Monday that he had found multiple open packages in the hallway of his apartment building in the 600 block of South Fourth Street, Champaign. A package belonging to the student had been opened, but nothing was stolen.

Laresha L. Reed, 42, no address provided, was arrested at 7:19 p.m. Monday at an apartment building in the 400 block of East Healey Street, Champaign, for trespassing and resisting a police officer. Police initially were called by a building manager who recognized Reed and was aware that she previously had been issued a no-trespassing notice for the property. When asked to leave, Reed confronted officers and had to be removed from the building.

A U. of I. student reported that his $80 basketball had been stolen between 6-6:15 p.m. Wednesday at the Activities and Recreation Center, 201 E. Peabody Drive, Champaign. The basketball was left unattended beside a court.
