It was reported that a man was attacked by three people at 2:10 a.m. Sunday outside of Joe’s Brewery, 706 S. Fifth St., Champaign. The altercation began as a dispute inside the bar. One of the aggressors was removed from the building by an employee and waited with two others for the victim to exit. The victim exited the business about 10 minutes later and the fight continued. The aggressors left the area before police arrived. The victim was taken to a local hospital and later noticed that his wallet was missing. The wallet and its contents have a total estimated value of $420.
Andy B. Anderson, 34, of Mathis, Texas, was arrested at 12:35 a.m. Saturday in the 1200 block of South First Street, Champaign, for driving under the influence of alcohol. Anderson’s vehicle initially was stopped because he was speeding.
A vehicle was reported stolen at 3:42 p.m. Friday. The owner told police that he had had lent the $3,000 vehicle to an acquaintance on Sept. 2 and expected it to be returned the same day to his home in the 300 block of East Healey Street, Champaign. The acquaintance never returned the vehicle and has stopped responding to the owner’s attempts to contact her.
