At 2:06 p.m. Tuesday at her apartment in the 700 block of South Fourth Street, Champaign, U. of I. student Ziqi Wang, 21, was issued a state of Illinois notice to appear in court for theft. Wang was seen on security camera footage from Nov. 30 taking a package from the mail area that was reported stolen by another resident of the building. The package contained three items of clothing, and Wang had two of those items in her apartment when police spoke to her Tuesday. 

Dytrell R. Thomas, 34, of Champaign, was arrested at 1:25 p.m. Wednesday at the Champaign County Jail, 512 S. Lierman Ave., Urbana, for residential burglary and criminal damage to property. Thomas was seen on security camera footage from Nov. 21 breaking a window and taking electronics from an apartment in the 500 block of South Locust Street, Champaign. Police interviewed Thomas at the jail, where he was in custody on an unrelated charge.
