It was reported Monday that copper plumbing was stolen from water heaters in a vacant apartment building in the 100 block of East Healey Street, Champaign, between noon Saturday and 7 a.m. Monday. The theft caused water leakage throughout the building, which was secured before staff left Saturday afternoon. A cleanup or repair estimate wasn’t provided.

At 7:45 p.m. Monday, a gas station in the 0-100 block of East Green Street, Champaign, reported that a shoplifter had stolen food and alcoholic beverages worth $18. Police continue to investigate.

At 1:08 p.m. Thursday, Samuel I. Bellettiere, 24, of Champaign, was arrested at his residence in the 500 block of Breen Drive, Champaign, on charges of possession of cannabis over 10 grams; delivery and manufacture of cannabis over 10 grams; delivery and manufacture of cannabis over 30 grams; manufacture of a controlled substance; and delivery of a controlled substance. The arrest was part of a search warrant executed by the Champaign County Street Crimes Task Force. The search warrant resulted in the seizure of cannabis, psilocybin mushrooms, psilocybin pills, THC gummies, THC cartridges, psilocybin mushroom and cannabis packaging materials and more than $5,500.
