U. of I. student Kaicheng Yang, 20, of Champaign, was arrested at 5:36 p.m. Sunday in the 0-100 block of East Green Street, Champaign, for domestic battery. An officer was flagged down by a witness who reported that two people were fighting in a parking lot. Police learned that Yang had struck another person several times. The victim did not require medical assistance.
A U. of I. student reported that a package had been stolen between Wednesday and Saturday after it was delivered to the mail area of his apartment building in the 400 block of East Healey Street, Champaign. The package has a retail value of $257.
U. of I. student Alexis M. Ramos, 20, of Champaign, was arrested at 2:49 a.m. Saturday outside Sherman Hall, 909 S. Fifth St., Champaign, for domestic battery. Police were called by a resident adviser who initially heard Ramos and another person fighting in the parking lot. Police learned that Ramos struck the other person in the face. The victim did not require medical assistance.
A U. of I. student reported that the contents of a package had been stolen between 1:18-11:30 p.m. Wednesday after it was delivered to the mail area of his apartment building in the 500 block of East Springfield Avenue, Champaign. When the student went to retrieve the package, he found it open and empty. The stolen item has a retail value of $70.
A U. of I. student reported that a package had been stolen between Nov. 21-27 after it was delivered to the mail area of her apartment building in the 600 block of South Fourth Street, Champaign. The package has a retail value of $591.
A U. of I. student reported that her car’s catalytic converter had been stolen between Nov. 27 and Friday while it was parked in U. of I. lot E-14, 1702 S. First St., Champaign. The estimated repair cost is $2,000.
A U. of I. student reported that his electric scooter had been stolen between 1:50-3:20 p.m. Tuesday outside of the Electrical and Computer Engineering Building, 306 N. Wright St., Urbana. The scooter, which has an estimated value of $600, was locked to a bicycle rack.
A U. of I. student reported that her car’s catalytic converter had been stolen overnight Nov. 28-29 while it was parked in the 1000 block of South Third Street, Champaign. The estimated repair cost is $3,576.
A U. of I. student reported that his backpack containing a laptop computer had been stolen between 8:30-10:45 p.m. Thursday at the Activities and Recreation Center, 201 E. Peabody Drive, Champaign. The items, which have a total estimated value of $2,220, were left in an unsecured locker.
A U. of I. student reported that his coat and headphones had been stolen between 8-10 p.m. Tuesday at the Activities and Recreation Center, 201 E. Peabody Drive, Champaign. The items, which have a total estimated value of $424, were left in an unsecured locker.
A U. of I. student reported that his electric scooter had been stolen between 2-5 p.m. Tuesday outside the Electrical and Computer Engineering Building, 305 N. Wright St., Urbana. The scooter has an estimated value of $621. No information was provided on whether the scooter had been locked.
A U. of I. student reported that a package had been stolen between Nov. 22-24 after it had been delivered to the mail area of his apartment building in the 400 block of East Healey Street, Champaign. The package has a retail value of $472.
