U. of I. students Davita A. Anderson and Jair T. Thompson, both 23, were arrested outside their apartment in the 900 block of South First Street, Champaign, for domestic battery. Anderson and Thompson reportedly were involved in an argument that became physical.

At 1:53 a.m. Sunday at The City Center, 505 S. Chestnut St., Champaign, Brea C. Eskridge, 26, of Urbana, was issued a state of Illinois notice to appear in court for battery. Eskridge reportedly slapped an employee in the face during a dispute over payment.

An employee of Evergreen Tobacco, 306 E. Green St., Champaign, reported that he was struck in the head around 7:30 p.m. Saturday after someone stole $80 worth of merchandise. The employee was struck when he attempted to stop the offender from leaving the store.

It was reported that someone entered an unlocked vehicle overnight Friday or Saturday while it was parked in the 300 block of East John Street, Champaign, and stole miscellaneous items, including electronics and medications. Several items were later recovered at the Champaign Public Library, 200 W. Green St., Champaign. The total estimated value of the remaining items is $2,795.

A hit-and-run accident was reported at noon Feb. 20 in the 600 block of East John Street, Champaign. A driver struck another vehicle while backing out of a parking space and then left the area without attempting to exchange information. A damage estimate was not available.

A cellphone, cash and banking cards were reported stolen around 11:30 p.m. Feb. 3 at Kam’s, 102 E. Green St., Champaign. The items were left unattended in a bathroom. GPS tracking information showed that the phone was taken to an apartment in Urbana. The total estimated value of the stolen items is $980.

A U. of I. student reported that a rug and suitcase had been stolen overnight Saturday or Sunday from her unlocked apartment in the 0-100 block of East John Street, Champaign. The items have a total estimated value of $150.

A U. of I. student reported that someone had broken his vehicle window between Thursday and Sunday while it was parked in a garage in the 900 block of South Third Street, Champaign. The estimated cost to replace the window is $450.

A man reported that he was knocked to the ground and kicked around 2 a.m. Sunday by four unknown people somewhere within a block of an apartment complex in the 900 block of Welch Drive, Urbana. The attack reportedly stemmed from a dispute that occurred during a party earlier in the evening. The man declined medical assistance

Peiyuan Jim, 20, was arrested at 4:40 a.m. Saturday at his apartment in the 300 block of East Springfield Avenue, Champaign, for domestic battery and unlawful restraint. Police were called by a witness who reported that Jim restrained a U. of I. student and also opened a door aggressively, striking the student. The student was assessed at the location by medical staff, but she declined an ambulance trip to the hospital.

A vehicle was reported stolen at 3:18 a.m. Saturday from a garage in the 1000 block of South Second Street, Champaign. Shortly after taking the report, the officer found the vehicle parked in a garage in the 100 block of East Green Street, Champaign. The driver had left the area. The vehicle has an estimated value of $12,900.

A U. of I. student reported that someone entered her apartment without permission around 2 a.m. Saturday in the 100 block of East Springfield Avenue, Champaign. The student awoke to see a person sitting at the end of her bed. The person immediately left when the student screamed. It appeared that the person may have entered the apartment through a sliding door with a faulty lock.

At 12:25 a.m. Saturday outside Kam’s, 102 E. Green St., Champaign, U. of I. student Eugene Jang, 21, of Champaign, was issued a state of Illinois notice to appear in court for battery. Jang reportedly struck another U. of I. student in the face and then grabbed him around the neck. The victim was taken by ambulance to a local hospital.

A U. of I. student reported that she was punched in the face by an unknown man at 12:03 a.m. Saturday near First and Green streets, Champaign. The two were engaged in a verbal dispute before the man struck the student. The offender left the area before police arrived.

A U. of I. student reported that his bicycle had been stolen overnight Thursday or Friday outside his apartment in the 500 block of South Third Street, Champaign. The bicycle, which has an estimated value of $500, was left unlocked at a rack.*

A U. of I. student reported that his bicycle had been stolen overnight Feb. 12-13 outside Illinois Street Residence Halls, 1012 W. Illinois St., Urbana. The bicycle, which has an estimated value of $125, was locked to a rack.*

On Feb. 15, it was reported that the Aeronomy Field Station, 4810 N. High Cross Road, Urbana, had been burglarized between Feb. 10-15. There was evidence that tools were used to break into two buildings on the property. Multiple university-owned tools, including a large lawn mower, had been stolen. The total estimated value of the stolen items is $34,600.
