At 1:09 a.m. Tuesday outside a bar in the 200 block of East Green Street, Champaign, U. of I. student Elliot M. Garay, 20, of Champaign, was issued a state of Illinois notice to appear in court for battery. Police were called by a bar employee who reported that Garay had struck the employee in the face as they were attempting to remove Garay from the bar. The employee did not require medical assistance.

Frank L. Wesley, 45, no address provided, was arrested at 10:55 p.m. Monday at an apartment complex in the 300 block of East Green Street, Champaign, on a Champaign County warrant for failure to appear in court. Police were called by a property management employee who requested that Wesley be escorted from the building.

At 5:25 p.m. Sunday, a U. of I. student reported that four men had attempted to enter his apartment by banging on the student’s bedroom window and kicking the door. The men ran away when the student confronted them, but the window screen and door lock had been damaged. The estimated repair cost is $130.

U. of I. student Souvik Ghosh, 19, was arrested at 6:04 p.m. Monday at his apartment in the 200 block of East Green Street, Champaign, for residential burglary and identity theft. Police initially were called at 4:25 p.m. Sunday by three U. of I. students who reported that someone had entered their unlocked apartment while they were sleeping and took various items including a cellphone, cash, credit cards, apartment keys and an elevator fob. The credit card was used to place a $206 food delivery order. One of the students spoke with a restaurant employee and learned that the food had been delivered to Ghosh’s apartment a floor above theirs. The students approached Ghosh, and he returned the stolen property.

A U. of I. student reported Friday that his bicycle had been stolen between Nov. 5-7 from his apartment in the 500 block of South Locust Street, Champaign. The bicycle, which has an estimated value of $200, was locked to a rack.*

A U. of I. student reported that his bicycle had been stolen between Nov. 8 and Thursday outside Wardall Hall, 1012 W. Illinois St., Urbana. The bicycle, which has an estimated value of $750, was locked to a rack.*

A U. of I. student reported that his bicycle had been stolen overnight Wednesday or Thursday from his apartment in the 500 block of Bash Court, Champaign. The bicycle, which has an estimated value of $140, was locked to a rack.*

U. of I. student Fatemeh Amerikheirabadi, 35, was arrested at 9:56 a.m. Monday at her apartment in the 0-100 block of East Healey Street, Champaign, for stalking. On Oct. 12, a U. of I. employee reported that he had been receiving unwanted gifts and communications since March 2021 from a then-unknown person. Investigators identified that person as Amerikheirabadi and on Oct. 17 instructed her to stop contacting the employee. On Friday, the employee reported that Amerikheirabadi had visited his classroom at Loomis Laboratory, 1110 W. Green St., Urbana, and attempted to speak with him.
