A catalytic converter was stolen from a vehicle overnight Sunday or Monday while it was parked in the 2000 block of South Orchard Street, Urbana. The estimated cost to repair the vehicle is $2,100.
A U. of I. employee reported that her vehicle’s catalytic converter had been stolen overnight Sunday or Monday while it was parked outside the Beckman Institute for Advanced Science and Technology, 405 N. Mathews Ave., Urbana. The estimated cost to repair the vehicle is $800.
A U. of I. student reported that his cellphone had been stolen between 11 p.m. and midnight Saturday during a party at an apartment in the 0-100 block of East Green Street, Champaign. GPS tracking information showed the $1,100 phone had been taken to the 600 block of West Columbia Avenue, Champaign.
A U. of I. student reported that he was robbed of his glasses and cellphone at 2:10 a.m. Sunday in the 300 block of East Green Street, Champaign. The student was walking on the sidewalk when a man approached and forcibly took a bag of food from the student. The student chased the man and was then confronted by three additional men who punched and kicked the student. The men took the student’s $1,000 cellphone and $400 glasses during the fight. The student received treatment for a minor injury at the scene.
A U. of I. student reported that her cellphone had been stolen between 10-11 p.m. Friday at a bar in the 100 block of East Green Street, Champaign. The student felt the $700 cellphone being removed from her back pants pocket, but could not determine who took it when she turned around. GPS tracking information showed the phone had been taken to the 500 block of East Green Street, Champaign.
A U. of I. employee reported that his motorcycle had been damaged at 1:16 p.m. Friday while it was parked outside Davenport Hall, 607 S. Mathews Ave., Urbana. The employee discovered scratches on the motorcycle when he returned from work, and security cameras captured images of a vehicle possibly striking the motorcycle. An estimated repair cost was not available.
Eli I. Conley, 20, of Woodland, Illinois, was arrested at 2:35 a.m. Tuesday near Third and Chalmers streets, Champaign, for driving under the influence of alcohol and driving with an expired registration. Conley’s vehicle initially was stopped because he disobeyed a stop sign.
