A U. of I. student reported that a package had been stolen between 10 a.m. and 12:15 p.m. Monday after it had been delivered to the mail area of his apartment building in the 500 block of South Second Street, Champaign. It has an estimated value of $90.

A U. of I. student reported that her backpack containing headphones and a laptop computer had been stolen around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Illini Union, 1401 W. Green St., Urbana. The backpack and its contents, which had a total estimated value of $1,150, were left unattended outside a public restroom.

A U. of I. employee reported that someone had discharged a fire extinguisher between 4-6 p.m. Wednesday in a stairwell at Morrill Hall, 505 S. Goodwin Ave., Urbana.

A vehicle was damaged overnight Saturday or Sunday while it was parked in the 200 block of East Armory Avenue, Champaign. The owner found a dent in the hood and a large rock lying next to the vehicle. The estimated cost to repair the damage is $1,000.

A construction manager reported that tools had been stolen sometime overnight Oct. 6 or Oct. 7 from their construction site in the 0-100 block of East Green Street, Champaign. The tools were secured in a trailer that had been cut open. The total estimated value of the stolen tools is $2,550.
