Evelyn D. Bellamy, 47, of Champaign, was arrested at 12:44 a.m. Thursday in the 600 block of East Green Street, Champaign, for unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon, disorderly conduct and resisting a police officer. Police initially were called by a witness who reported that Bellamy had a knife and was threatening a man. Bellamy resisted officers’ commands while they handcuffed her. Police found a knife in her pants pocket. The man she reportedly threatened had left the area by the time officers arrived.

An employee of a convenience store in the 100 block of East Green Street, Champaign, reported at 7:27 p.m. Wednesday that a man left the store without paying for a $38 bottle of liquor.

At 11:10 a.m. Wednesday, a U. of I. employee reported that someone had painted graffiti on an exterior wall of the Student Services Arcade Building, 620 E. John St., Champaign. It is unknown how long the graffiti has been there, and no information was provided on the cost to remove the paint.
