An employee of the U.S. Postal Service office, 302 E. Green St., Champaign, reported Wednesday that two of its outdoor mailboxes had been damaged between Saturday and Monday. It appeared that someone may have used a pry bar in an attempt to access the contents of the mailboxes. The estimated cost to repair the damage is $6,000. The incident was reported to U. of I. Police investigators who visited the post office Wednesday related to a separate investigation.

A U. of I. student reported that a package had been stolen between 2:04-5:50 p.m. Tuesday after it was delivered outside his front door in the 300 block of East Chalmers Street, Champaign. The package has a retail value of $21.78.
