At 1 p.m. Monday, metal ducts valued at $300 were stolen from the dock area of the Nick Holonyak Micro and Nanotechnology Laboratory, 208 N. Wright St., Urbana. The ducts were later located at a local recycling facility. Police continue to investigate.
It was reported at 4:20 p.m. Tuesday that a wallet containing $220 and a credit card was stolen and the card later was used to purchase cigarettes at a convenience store in the 500 block of East Green Street, Champaign. The victim initially thought he misplaced the wallet in a friend’s vehicle but later realized it was stolen after he saw the fraudulent transaction.
A vehicle parked in the 600 block of East Green St., Champaign, was stolen at 7:33 p.m. Tuesday. The victim left the vehicle unlocked and running while he went to pick up a food order at a nearby fast-food restaurant. The vehicle contained a laptop computer and a backpack valued at $370.
