At 6:11 p.m. Monday, it was reported that a solicitor was going door-to-door at the Orchard Downs apartment complex, 1800 Orchard Place, Urbana, selling energy supply services in violation of the university’s no-solicitation policy. Police issued him a no-trespassing notice for all U. of I. property.

A U. of I. student reported that a package had been stolen between 1-3 p.m. Monday after it was delivered to his apartment building in the 500 block of East Green Street, Champaign. The package has a retail value of $134.

U. of I. student Yubin L. Son, 18, was arrested at 12:24 a.m. Tuesday at his residence at Nugent Hall, 207 E. Gregory Drive, Champaign, for domestic battery. Police initially were called to check on Son after it was reported that he was acting erratically. While responding, police learned that Son had made aggressive physical contact with another U. of I. student on previous occasions, including an incident Thursday at Nugent Hall.

On Monday, it was reported that a U. of I. student had been sexually assaulted in January 2021 at an off-campus apartment by a person acquainted with the student.

A U. of I. student reported that he was the victim of a sexual extortion scam on Sunday. An unknown person contacted the student through social media and encouraged him to send intimate photos of himself. The offender then threatened to send those photos to the student’s social media contacts unless he paid $500. The student complied.

A U. of I. student reported that someone entered her unlocked car without permission between Friday and Sunday while it was parked in her apartment building’s garage in the 200 block of East Green Street, Champaign. The student’s wallet containing cash, banking cards and identification was stolen. Someone later used the student’s credit card at a local store.

On Wednesday, a U. of I. student reported that someone entered his unlocked apartment Jan. 27 in the 300 block of East Green Street, Champaign. A $1,000 cellphone and $90 speaker were stolen.
