Hannah L. Hallman, 19, was arrested at 12:50 a.m. Monday at her apartment in the 200 block of East Green Street, Champaign, for domestic battery. It was reported that Hallman shoved a roommate during an argument.
A U. of I. student reported Sunday that her suite at Illini Tower, 409 E. Chalmers St., Champaign, had been burglarized. The student was gone for about a week, during which time the suite was unlocked because of faulty electronic locks. The total estimated value of the stolen property, which includes cash and jewelry, is $3,300.
A U. of I. student reported that a man entered her apartment in the 200 block of East John Street, Champaign, without permission around 9:05 a.m. Sunday. The student awoke to find the man in a hallway near the front door. The door had been left unlocked overnight.
An employee of Verizon Wireless, 2116 S. Neil St., Champaign, reported that someone entered the store around 3:55 p.m. Sunday and stole a smartwatch on display. The watch has an estimated value of $400.
A U. of I. student reported that her vehicle’s sideview mirror had been damaged between Jan. 21 and Saturday while it was parked in her apartment complex’s garage in the 200 block of East Chalmers Street, Champaign. The estimated cost to repair the damage is $55.
Javarrias J. Miller, 23, of Carlinville, Illinois, was arrested at 10:25 a.m. Saturday at Hopkins Hall, 1208 S. First St., Champaign, for obstructing a police officer and trespassing on state-supported property. A U. of I. student called police to report that Miller was in the building attempting to speak to a student who did not wish to see him. Earlier Saturday, another U. of I. student reported that Miller had followed him into Hopkins Hall, and Miller put his hands around the student’s neck. Miller initially gave police a false name and previously had been issued a no-trespassing letter for all U. of I. property.
A hit-and-run accident was reported at 6:28 a.m. Saturday in the 0-100 block of East Green Street, Champaign. A vehicle backing out of a parking space struck another vehicle, causing damage. The at-fault driver left without trying to exchange information.

An employee at Circle K, 59 E. Green St., Champaign, reported that someone entered the store at 6:58 a.m. Saturday and stole food items with a total retail value of $26.52.
A U. of I. student and his friend were punched by three unknown people at 1:42 a.m. Saturday while walking in the 0-100 block of East Green Street, Champaign. It was reported that the student yelled an insult to one of the offenders prior to the attack. The victims visited a local hospital for treatment of facial injuries.
A U. of I. employee reported Friday that someone had used a counterfeit $100 bill to pay for merchandise at the Illini Union Bookstore, 809 S. Wright St., Champaign. The counterfeit bill was discovered while a bank was processing a deposit for the bookstore.
A U. of I. employee reported Friday that someone had scratched symbols and words into a wooden door frame in a public hallway at Saunders Hall, 902 College Court, Urbana. The estimated cost to repair the graffiti is $500.
A U. of I. student reported that someone had stolen his tablet computer around 2 p.m. Thursday at David Kinley Hall, 1407 W. Gregory Drive, Urbana. The computer, which has an estimated value of $800, had been left unattended in a public area. GPS tracking information showed it had been taken to an apartment near Gregory Drive and First Street, Champaign.
A U. of I. employee reported Thursday that two unauthorized charges totaling $589 had been made to her credit card. The employee was still in possession of the card during the time the charges were made.
A U. of I. student reported that a package had been stolen Jan. 29 after it was delivered to the mail area of her apartment building in the 300 block of East Chalmers Street, Champaign. The package has a retail value of $206.
A U. of I. student reported that she was the victim of deceptive practices Jan. 29. The student attempted to purchase concert tickets offered for sale through an online marketplace. After she transferred $1,050 to the seller through a mobile banking app, the seller blocked the student. The student called a phone number associated with the mobile banking account, and the person who answered claimed to have no knowledge of the transaction.
A U. of I. student reported that his electronic scooter had been stolen between 6 p.m. Wednesday and 12:20 a.m. Thursday outside the Campus Instructional Facility, 1405 W. Springfield Ave., Urbana. The scooter, which has an estimated value of $600, was locked to a rack.
A U. of I. student reported that a package had been stolen between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. Wednesday after it was delivered to his apartment building in the 0-100 block of East Green Street, Champaign. The package has a retail value of $250.
U. of I. student Zhiheng Ye, 21, was arrested at 7:34 p.m. Friday at her apartment in the 400 block of East Chalmers Street, Champaign, for debit card fraud and identity theft. Police initially were called by another U. of I. student who reported that multiple unauthorized charges totaling $2,882 had been made to her debit card between Dec. 15 and Jan. 30. The student provided the shipping address for those purchases, which led police to Ye. Upon being questioned, Ye told police that she had taken a picture of the victim’s debit card during a class they both attended in October.
