U. of I. Police investigate projector thefts

CHAMPAIGN – U. of I. Police is asking the community for information about the thefts of four projectors taken from unlocked classrooms in June.

The multimedia projectors were reported missing on June 26. They are believed to have been taken sometime between June 24 and 26 from separate classrooms on the third floor of the Armory Building, 505 E. Armory Ave., Champaign.

All four missing projectors were taken from brackets affixed to the ceiling of the classrooms. The connection cords were left behind, and there was no indication that they had been removed for business purposes.

The Epson LCD projectors are white and similar to the home-theater projectors pictured here. They have an estimated value of $1,500 each.
