URBANA, Ill. – Motorists should be particularly careful on St. Mary’s Road near the Campus Rec fields for the next couple weeks while the Fighting Illini football team holds training camp.

U. of I. Police will be using special patrols on St. Mary’s Road this week and next watching for people driving faster than the 25 mph posted speed limit. The area is more congested than normal as visitors – including children – come to watch the Fighting Illini practice.

All visitors should observe the no parking signs posted on St. Mary’s Road as well.

The Fighting Illini will be holding open practices on most days between today and Aug. 18.
