Safety and crime prevention is a community effort, and the police cannot do it alone. We encourage you to subscribe to our newsletters, connect with us on social media and sign up for emergency alerts.
Campus Safety Notices
Campus Safety Notices are issued every time a significant crime occurs on campus. These email notices contain details about the crime and practical safety tips for those who may be affected. Sign up for email notices here.
Illini-Alerts are emergency notifications issued via text message, email and through campus homepages whenever an emergency like fire, severe weather or an active threat requires campus community members to take immediate personal protective actions to ensure their own safety. If you have a campus NetID, you can register up to three cellphone numbers and email addresses at emergency.illinois.edu. Anyone else can sign up for messages by texting “IlliniAlert” to 226787.
The University of Illinois Police Department maintains a news feed to keep those interested up to date on all the latest cases, trends, media releases and other campus safety-related issues. Sign up for email updates here.
